Hello, everyone, and welcome to Duel Screens!
When we started Nintendo Duel Screens on Proven Gamer, we had a very clear vision of what we wanted the podcast to be about. We weren’t quite sure on how to execute that vision, however, so with a pretty nebulous agenda (i.e. we had no idea what we were going to talk about) and one of us failing to put on a pair of headphones (Spoiler Alert: it was Andy), we recorded our very first show…which we ultimately had to scrap. It seemed almost fitting for us to kick off Nintendo Duel Screens on such a silly note as it is that same level of quirky unpredictability that has come to define our show today.
With our podcast growing faster than we anticipated – largely in part due to an increasing number of high-profile guests we had on the show – we looked to Patreon to help us expand on the vision we had when we first started. Now equipped with the support of our most loyal listeners, we were not only able to create fun bonus content ( such as additional monthly episodes), but we were able to create Duel Screens – a hub that will feature all the content we create.
At Duel Screens, you can get the latest on our weekly podcast, watch our upcoming YouTube series, and read our engaging editorial content known as Duel Screens Magazine. Our goal with the magazine, however, isn’t to deliver breaking news and regurgitate announcements you can get on countless other websites. We want our editorial content to be entertaining and to further highlight the games that we care about. It will be home to indie-game developer interviews and gaming reviews as well. We won’t be scoring games in a traditional manner either. We want to focus on making a home here, to create a space for you to laugh with us, and to even collaborate with us. We are incredibly excited to take this next step and are thrilled to have you all along for this wild ride.
