About indieRift

indieRift is dedicated to providing a platform for games that matter.

Founded by a madcap duo of best friends, indieRift was designed to provide you with an unconventional look into the gaming industry. Yes, traditional website standards such as previews/reviews and even interviews will be commonplace at indieRift. But more importantly, our aim is to bring our special brand of hype to gamers like you. You won’t see us rushing to copy and paste the same news and announcements that cycle through dozens of other gaming websites. While we have full time 9-5 careers, indieRift is a passion that we hope can become our careers. Our focus is to have fun and to bring you along for the ride.

indieRift Founders

Andreas Asimakis - Founder / Editor in Chief

Andreas once finished the arcade version of Metal Slug with only four quarters. In Elementary School he was “Best Known For: Mega Man”, and he keeps a 26-year old letter he received from Nintendo Power on his nightstand. He’s also too fanciful for his own good, has an unhealthy obsession with Frasier, and was raised on 80’s slasher movies.

Stephen Fontana - Founder / Director of Content

Stephen is a strong advocate for putting pineapple on pizza. He’s super into sportsball and his favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is Raphael...which is odd because while Stephen is definitely cool he is hardly ever crude. He also has an extra special place in his heart for the Playstation Vita.

Contributing Editors & Artists

Taylar Allan aka "itsPurger" - Producer/Host

Taylar had a PSP in the 5th grade, but didn't realize that you needed a memory card for it. Determined to beat Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, he left the system plugged in and on for 6 weeks straight because if he turned it off it would delete his progress. Taylar is an avid Destiny 2 apologist and has the Platinum Trophy in Bloodborne. He loves baseball, his family, and cooking competition shows on the Food Network.

Chris "RoboDessert" - Editor/Host

Chris "RoboDessert" (He/Him) grew up with the Playstation line of consoles, and when he played his first ever Mario game in 2020 it attracted a lot of questions like “HOW?!”. He’s resigned himself to never achieving a platinum trophy, getting a “world first” achievement, or completing a speed run for any game, but overall, just thinks that games are a neat way to tell stories and connect with other people. Outside of video games Chris is an amateur rock climber, comedy enthusiast, and lover of dogs.

Kory Bearden - Host

Kory didn't submit his bio yet but it would probably be about how he tries to break all kinds of gaming world records and is Canadian.

Jimmy aka "Gahmsted" - Editor

Jimmy was the kind of kid who was watching Tales From the Crypt while his classmates were into Are You Afraid of the Dark, which he also watched. He has the kind of mind that can attribute pop culture references to most situations. Even though he spends a lot of time with online FPS's, he has a love for platformers, action games, RPG's, and action RPG's. Won't shut up about missing the Konami of yesteryear.

SunnyRads
SunnyRads - Editor

Sunny (She/Her) grew up playing games with family. It wasn't until right before the pandemic that she experienced her first farming and life simulation game though. Her screen time drastically changed after that. Now if she isn't running around in Fortnite, finding a new card game, or reading, then she's probably somewhere virtually farming and romancing the villagers. While she won't be receiving diamond rankings any time soon she can still definitely tell you what to give to that villager you have your eye on.

Michael Multari - Web Stuff

There was once a time where Michael thought that Sega was better than Nintendo simply because Sonic could move left and Mario could not. Since then, Mike has seen the light and is now a full-blown Nintendo Nerd. He loves all things Zelda, Metroidvania, Final Fantasy and the occasional FPS. Mike has pledged that one day, he will finish a 60-hour RPG.

Matt Murray a.k.a mistanuff - Artist

Matt is a sucker for stupid hard platformers. If he didn't have a family he would spend 100% of his time trying and failing to speed run Super Meat Boy. He enjoys long walks on the beach, defeating the 8 robot masters, and has a soft spot for indie games.
