Welcome to this week’s Indie Highlights!

This week we have one of the most anticipated indie titles of 2026 dropping, Mina the Hollower is finally out on the 29th. I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through the year already. It’s been a really great half-year for the indie scene and May really brought out some heavy hitters. For this round-up My personal pick is the slick and stylish FPS chaos of Sydless, Andy Picked out creature-scanning platformer Emuurom, and Steve is fishin’ with the best of them, bringing us Scale the Depths (look out for our review of this soon!)

Check out all these and more below!

Emuurom | May 25th
Borbware

This self-described “Metroidbrainia” ditches a heavy focus on combat and replaces it with pure exploration and discovery. EMUUROM is a nonviolent creature-scanning platformer, where you document an ancient paradise before it’s lost forever. Equipped with a unique scanner beam you reveal hidden pathways and study the EMUUROM creatures to gain knowledge and create new paths forward. The environmental puzzles range from obvious to obscure, with a plethora of secrets hidden in plain sight: this creates a multi-layered experience for many kinds of players. As you gain a better understanding on the world around you, the machinations of the EMUUROM creatures begin to unfold.

Sydless | May 27th
Opia Games

Sydless is an ultra fast movement shooter built entirely around momentum, precision, and controlled chaos. Players take control of Diego, an exhausted fast food employee trapped inside Randy’s Burgers, a warped 90s diner that’s somehow transformed into a hostile nightmare filled with monstrous customers and strange secrets. The core mechanic revolves around movement itself. Chaining together slides, jumps, and high speed traversal builds up momentum while simultaneously increasing the lethality of your weapon, which happens to be a violently ricocheting metal ball bouncing around the environment like it’s actively trying to escape the laws of physics. The faster and more stylishly you move, the deadlier the combat becomes, forcing players to constantly stay in motion while tracking the unpredictable path of the ball through increasingly chaotic encounters.

Sydless focuses heavily on replayability and mastery. Each level tracks speed, efficiency, and overall performance, encouraging players to reach for higher scores and rankings through faster clears and cleaner execution. Alongside the movement and combat systems, players can equip rings granting unique powers that can alter playstle as they progress deeper into the diner and uncover more of its surreal mystery.

MrEliptik

This is a solo developed strategy-meets- physics roguelike where you combine spelling with cool upgrades to score high. Merge letters, spell big words, trigger upgrades, drink potions, wield wands and restore order!

From the dev: “After Dashpong, Hyperslice and many action oriented jam games, I wanted to work on something more chill. I’ve been thinking about creating a word game for a while, and I’m super happy to explore a new direction with Lexispell. The goal is to make a small and cozy word game that can also be challenging for avid gamers.

I’m making this alone, with help from Trevron for the music, so don’t hesitate to share and wishlist Lexispell!

I hope you’ll enjoy 🙂 – Eliptik”
