I’m back with an update from my No Death Run post from last week.

First a recap of the rules:

I’m looking to complete the following, all without dying on this character-

  • Beat the main story questline
  • Reach Level 60
  • Get all trade skills to 200 INCLUDING FISHING

If I die, I delete the character and start again.

Through about 28 hours here is how we’re doing:

Player Level – 35

Weapon Mastery – Hatchet 12 / Bow 11

Attribute Skew – STR 50, DEX 117, INT 5, FOC 5, CON 50

Gathering Skills – Logging 100, Gathering 110, Mining 103, Skinning 113, Fishing 26 (progress?)

Refining Skills – Smelting 104, Weaving 79, Woodworking 105, Stonecutting 59, Leatherworking 98

Crafting Skills – Weaponsmithing 41, Armoring 60, Engineering 77, Jewelcrafting 54, Arcana 35, Cooking 64, Furnishing 28 (I think I underestimated how hard this is going to be)

Summary of the shit-show so far:

This week started out working on faction quests and town boards to over level as I prepped for Amrine. I ended up finding a group of mostly lvl 60 players that ran me through Amrine when I was at level 29. Turning in the Barkimedes quest is actually what pushed me up to level 30! The run went super smooth, there weren’t really any close calls. After completing the quest, I decided it was time to buy a house. I purchased the small house in Windsward so that I had something to decorate while I was working on furnishing. I present to you itsHorpsHusband Estates, a beautiful Cottage-Core aesthetic conveniently located in uptown Windsward. It has all the finest amenities, including a well directly in front of your house for easy access, beautiful views of the market and crafting area, a storage shed just across the street, and a good doggo waiting for you on the bed.

After taking some time to do the bare minimum on a couple of trade skills falling behind cough furnishing, fishing and logging cough I got back to work on the task at hand: grinding out the story. At this point I was pretty over leveled, so I breezed through the story quests no problem. The hatchet/bow combo still feel really strong and I’m enjoying how well they compliment each other. Moving into Brightwood and Cutlass Keys has been a stressful one so far because of the wildlife. Lower level bears and crocs are no big deal, but as I started fighting ones that were at or above my level, the encounters got way tougher. I’ve learned that bursting the bear as much as I can with DOT from my bow before he gets to me is the move. Through it all though, we’ve not yet been bested. Gren scares me tho, pls send help.

Along my journey to madness, I’ve met some really dope people. Vexanaa and Bones McCoy were both super helpful in keeping me alive during Amrine and totally willing to help with any other content I need going forward (look forward to a call when it’s time to do the other dungeons…) Atriel came up to me while I was chilling on the Windsward bridge and chatted with me for a bit because they recognized me from reddit! Shout out to all of you that have helped me through this journey so far! If you are on NA West Yggdrasil and want to support me through this insane endeavor, feel free to add me at itsHorpsHusband.

Goals for the upcoming week are to get fishing and furnishing over 60 each, finish the Yonas fight, finish Starstone, get to Excubitor faction rank, and hit level 43. If you have any tips or tricks for leveling each profession, suggestions for where to spend my weapon mastery points, want to tell me my house is cute, or anything else, I’ll be responding to everyone in the comments!
