Usually I have a pretty good finger on the pulse of the indie scene but I will fully admit that Tabletop Tavern was not on my radar. After reading about it and watching the trailer below I can say that it is without a doubt ABSOLUTELY on my radar now.

In Tabletop Tavern you’ll fight your way through a series of skirmishes as one of the game’s many factions. Along the way you’ll recruit all kinds of different units into your army , hunt down rare gear, and unlock upgrades that permanently reshape your strategy. These are all concepts that I love. Let me build an army, theory craft a little, bulk them up, and take them into battle to demolish whatever is in front of them.

Tabletop Tavern
looks like it was developed solely on the idea of “I want to play a Total War campaign, but I have work in the morning.” and I really love that. The Low poly art, the visual of it being played on a tabletop in a live tavern, and the little bit of tilt-shifting that’s going on to really give you a sense of scale; The whole aesthetic just makes my brain tingle. It being a roguelike is really just the cherry on top for me.

ACTUALLY, the real cherry is that developer Frostbloom is out of my (almost) hometown of Boston

Matt is a sucker for stupid hard platformers. If he didn't have a family he would spend 100% of his time trying and failing to speed run Super Meat Boy. He enjoys long walks on the beach, defeating the 8 robot masters, and has a soft spot for indie games.
